Since 2015, Webdeves Academy has supported the growth of a community, passionate about the role of technology in transforming Nigeria. We have seen from experience that there are lots of people, and organization interested in the application of technology to solve local problems, and our goals is to unearth such individuals/companies and to support them to bring their ideas/product to life
One of the ways we have done this is through the programs in our incubation unit. To date, over (90) ideas and companies have benefited from our support. Over 50+ advisors, mentors and facilitators contibuted to our various programs this year.
Pre-Incubation
It is a six months progarm to support aspiring entrepreneurs to build and launch initial prototypes of their tech-enabled solutions to clearly define problems in the society. The goal is to validate the ideas and product/market fit. The progarm comes with a cash investment of $5,000, mentoring from the management team and hands-on support from our Product development team.
- Innovation ideas that leverage web or mobile technology to solve a problem/issue.
- Ideas must improve on existing process/solution or be completety new i.e has'nt been done locally.
- Adaquately research problem with a clear picture of the target segment it effects.
- Team should have skill to build the solution (to have access to technical skill).
- Full time commitment for 6 months spend building the solution and conduct market validation to understand your potential user?.
- Team must have at least one full-time member and a maximum of 3 team member.
Incubation
This is a 12-months progarm focus on helping ventures with some level of traction and revenue to build their businesses that can grow into gobal suntainable companies. Startups will access up to $25k during the program and will have direct access to follow-on finding up to$250k from Growth Capital, free office space for the team, free credit for partner product business suppoet and access to a network of partners and more. To be eligible to apply, startups must meet the following criteria:
- Have a review model and be generating revenue.
- Have funtional product that leverage technology.
- Have gained User/customer. Been in operation (since lauch date) for at least 6 months.
- Have a management team consisting of up to 3 member which include a technical lead and founder(s) that are fully committed to the business.
- Team must have at least one full-time member and a maximum of 3 team member.
This program is open to founders looking to grow their business in Africa, partically Nigeria. Startups will have to be based in our in our incubation space in Lagos, Nigeria for the duration of the progarm.
Acceleration
Acceleration are 12 weeks program designed to help startups refine their product, business model and processes, positioning them for substained growth. With a core focus on product development, financial management, inve readiness and business modeling, accelerators and design to be flixible and provide support base on the individual need and startup. Our accelerators are fast-pacednand excution driven, with a priority focus on founders applying learnings to their startups in real time. Startups in our Acceleration programs get access to:
- One-on-one with our internal experts at Webdeves Academy.
- Coaching session with leading industry experts.
- Free credit from partners product.
- Access to Mentorship.
- Access to partnership and network.
